Every setup in its own bottle.

A launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition. Each bottle keeps its own version, mod loader, mods and worlds, so trying a snapshot or a 300-mod pack never spills into the rest.

Version 0.1.0 for Windows 10 and 11, 98 MB. Free.

One shelf, no spills

A bottle is a whole Minecraft install with its own game folder, Java, memory and settings. Break one and the others never notice.

What's inside

  1. Press Play

Pick a bottle and go. Missing game files, the right Java build and the mod loader all get sorted on the way, and the button fills up while it happens.

  2. Find mods without the browser tabs

Search Modrinth from inside the launcher. Required dependencies come along on their own, and every file is checked against Modrinth's hash before it lands.

  3. Know what's wrong before you launch

Bottled reads every jar. Wrong loader, missing dependency, a mod that says it breaks another one: you get it in plain words, not a stack trace after a two minute load.

  4. Any loader, any version

Vanilla, Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge, from the newest snapshot back to 1.8.9 PvP and beyond. Recommended loader builds are picked for you.

  5. Make it yours

Ten potion colors, three depths of water, the game's own title screen as a background, and motion you can turn down or off.

Its liquid is your download. When it's full, the game starts. Give it a press, nothing actually downloads here.

Every loader, every version

Vanilla

The game exactly as Mojang ships it, releases and snapshots.

Fabric

Light and quick to update. Home of Sodium, Iris and most performance mods.

Quilt

The Fabric fork. Runs most Fabric mods too.

Forge

The classic, from 1.8.9 PvP to the big 1.20.1 packs. Installed with Forge's own installer.

NeoForge

Where most new big mods live now, including the new 26.x versions.

Java, handled

Each Minecraft version wants a specific Java. Bottled downloads the exact build Mojang ships for it, checks every file, and keeps them out of your system. You never install Java yourself.

What it does with your stuff

  • Sign-in happens on Microsoft's own page. Your password never touches Bottled. Login tokens are encrypted with Windows' own protection and only ever sent to Microsoft and Mojang.
  • Every download is checked. Game files, Java, loaders and mods are matched against their published hashes. A corrupted or swapped file gets thrown out and fetched again.
  • It only talks to the places it needs. Mojang, the mod loaders, Modrinth and Microsoft. Anything else is refused, redirects included.
  • Crash reports that stick to the facts. When the game dies, Bottled points at the lines in the log that explain it, and says so when it can't tell.
  • It isn't a virus scanner. A hash check proves a mod arrived intact, not that the mod is safe. Files you add yourself are labelled as such. Stick to projects you trust.
